The aim of the Cardinyl blender ™ design was to create a product that had been built on the knowledge gained through the study of designing for manufacture. This included the creation and implementation of suitable manufacturing materials and methods (with a focus on rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing), manufacturing drawings to a AS1100 standard, branding, marketing and promotional material for an intended target market, whilst still providing a unique/ user-friendly product. This particular blender uses a touch screen in the center to adjust the rotation speed of the blade attachment. When the user’s finger rotates clockwise the rotation increase while the opposite occurs when the user rotates their finger anticlockwise.
